Well that was quite the year, wasn’t it? I don’t want to digress into 2020 and rehash what was likely one of the worst years many of us have ever seen. I am just going to leave it at that. I acknowledge all of our trauma. We’ve all been through the wringer in one way or the other this past year and it’ll take some time to decompress from it all.
So typically I like to look back at our wedding season at the beginning of the year and highlight all of the fun memories. Well, recapping our 2020 season is pretty easy since it was short and sweet!
First of all, I want to give a HUGE round of applause to all couples who decided to get married this year, despite it not looking exactly as they had envisioned. 2020 couples get major kudos for being so incredibly flexible. We were all in this together and it was a learning curve for us all, and I thank all of our 2020 couples for their flexibility and easy going manner during a most difficult year.
We had 23 weddings whether they were micro or a full set up. This number is nowhere near our typical year however I am grateful for all 23 couples. We absolutely LOVE what we do, but creating 23 different bridal bouquets had even more meaning for me this year.
We had gorgeous outdoor tented weddings that followed the protocols and were absolutely stunning.
We had classic neutral palettes but we had sunny, happy color too! I think we’ll see more of that in 2021 for sure!
We had beautiful petite weddings that went all out on detail! Hey, if you don’t have to worry about feeding 150 guests, you have a little extra to play with!
We had dreamy arches and chuppahs, flower filled table pieces and even some tent installations too!
It was a quick wedding season but we are truly so grateful to our 2020 couples. We look forward to seeing all of our couples that postponed to this year and can’t wait to put your wedding together, however that may look.
We had more time on our hands this season, so by Summer we were doing a local flower subscription which we absolutely LOVED. We plan to start this again in the Spring!
We were busiest with weddings by September and October, which is always the case so we had to push pause on the subscription. But by the holidays, we were making wreaths and actually mailing them out this year which we definitely plan to continue doing! We had such a great response from our clients with wreaths going as far as Syracuse and Long Island!
To say that we are ready for a fabulous 2021 wedding season would be the understatement of the year. We are so ready for it. We postponed A LOT of weddings so we don’t have a lot of openings, but do reach out if you are still looking. And if you are a 2022 bride, it’s honestly never too early to get the process going. We will see early bookings for prime dates so keep that in mind for all of you June and September 2022 couples!
Hang in there. We are almost out of the woods but we have to hang in there. I don’t have a word or intention for 2021, but leaning into change, adapting and having flexibility is key to success for any year. And 2020 reminded us all of those things and more.
Happy 2021.
