Happy 2020!
Well, so much for me blogging this past year! As much as I love to ramble on, I say, getting it on paper is another story.
2019 was our 15th year in business! The season started out a little bit slower than usual but we sure made up for it in the Fall!
We had the most gorgeous springtime wedding in the city in April. Check out Susannah and Nico’s wedding at the Bowery Hotel. It was stunning! We love this family and it was so special to be a part of another wedding.
May is not a popular month for weddings it seems and I can never understand why! The most gorgeous flowers are available! We had some lovely weddings but the trend continues that May is just not as popular as other months. This May we have a doozy of a few weddings to share with you! You’ll have to wait and see!
Once June got here, we were rocking and rolling. June 1st was extra special for me personally as my dear friend, Caitlin, got married! Not only was it the dream team of vendors and the most beautiful day, I had the honor of officiating their ceremony. Their wedding was featured in the latest issue of the Knot NY and New England.
We got a few weeks of respite in July which is always welcomed. This year the 4th falls on the weekend so we are officially closed. It’s the one weekend in the summer we get to take off and enjoy some down time with our friends and family. We typically go to Woodstock, Vermont every summer, but this year we are thinking of driving to Maine instead. Any suggestions?
August into September is a beautiful blur of weddings. We had so many stunning weddings and quite a few are now in the gallery to see! Early August took us to Ocean House as well as a botanical wedding in New Jersey!
We also had a tropical inspired wedding in Weekapaug that will be featured in the Knot soon! Heather by the way, may have won “best response from a Hana bride for 2019”. I don’t know if I’ve ever had anyone else chant “MVP” when I walked in the door with the bouquets! Her happiness was absolutely contagious and it’s a memory none of us will ever forget!
September, what can I say? If you want to work in the wedding industry, be prepared for September! It was a gangbuster month of weddings. We were nearby for most, but had a stunner out on Shelter Island NY that was detail filled to the brim! More of Lauren and Kevin’s wedding later…. And P.S. we love the North Fork and Shelter so call us!!!
October is quickly becoming as busy as September and it’s always the month when the color scheme starts to change. It’s certainly welcomed by us as it gets us inspired to play with all the fun Fall colors and textures. This past October we saw a lot of wine accents which is so sophisticated and elegant.
November brought us to the incomparable Blue Hill at Stone Barns for Isabelle and Mike’s wedding. This venue is absolutely gorgeous and run impeccably. We would love to be back!
November was also the anniversary month of Hana so we had a fun little team photo shoot that you can see on our Instagram highlights! Thanks to Maggie Conley for being my go to Hana photographer!
And finally, we had two gorgeous winter weddings before the holidays which always gets us in the holiday spirit!
We had a fun filled Hana Holiday party to celebrate the season and also to give our best wishes to Trish. Trish moved to New Hampshire and we wish her all the best as she and her husband begin a new chapter of their lives! Trish’s cheerful presence will be missed! We’re hoping she makes a few cameos!
We do have an OG #hanagirl back this season to help us! We are excited to welcome back Hannah from Propagate Floral who will be joining us this season!
This year is already shaping up to be an incredible season of weddings. BIG ones too! Doozies! We are all over the state of CT, plenty of seaside weddings here and in RI, including some gorgeous Newport weddings. And we are going to the Berkshires in the Fall for a stunner at The Mount.
If you are engaged and haven’t found your florist yet, there are still some dates available! Don’t be afraid to contact us as we are still booking!
Whew! That was quite the recap! Maybe I can make this an annual thing. Not promising though!
Keep in touch with us on Instagram @hanafloral! This is where you will find the latest buzz on all things Hana!
Thank you for following along and supporting this little biz!
